ABOUT me
I am a husband, a father, a U.S. Navy Veteran and a highly skilled craftsman. Upon leaving my active duty assignment in the U.S. Navy in 1989, and returning home to finish my college degree, I started my first job in furniture manufacturing, which would become a long and storied career.
I worked on a night shift for a company called Value Line, inc. that made hotel furniture, so that I could attend college during the day at Henderson State University. I excelled quickly as an entry level employee, due to my work ethic and management experience in the Navy. Within 6 months I was promoted to level of floor manager of their night shift, which consisted of furniture building, staining, hardware and shipping departments. After 6 years there, I relocated to the Dallas area to pursue a career in law enforcement.
At that time, with heavy budget cuts in the military, localities were inundated with military veterans, all seeking new careers in law enforcement. That made the competition immense for the few positions that were available, often resulting in 300 or more candidates for only 3 positions for hire. I decided to forego that career path and go back to what I knew at the time, and what I had become very good at.
In 1995, I secured a position at Oceanic Systems inc., which was a high-end custom aquarium manufacturer that had been seeking an experienced furniture/cabinet manufacturing manager for their wood products division. I worked there for 10 years, designing new products for their standard product line, and for their key customers like PetSmart and Petco, as well as running day to day operations of their 150,000 sqft facility which had over 120 full time employees.
During that 10 year period, I helped Oceanic Systems, inc. grow from 2 million in annual sales to over 10 million in annual sales. As my career progressed, I discovered that I had less and less time to do what I enjoyed most, which was actually building furniture and cabinetry, and handling wood shop machinery.
In 2005, upon my 10 year anniversary at Oceanic Systems, I decided to leave there and start Triple M Furnishings, working for and by myself. I had 16 years of large scale furniture manufacturing experience behind me, becoming an expert in all phases of furniture manufacturing, to include furniture building, finishing/staining, hardware installation, warehousing, and purchasing. I put all that knowledge and skill together, not only so that I could go back to doing what I enjoy most, but also to provide the best possible quality, in custom cabinetry and built-in furnishings, at the most reasonable price, for any prospective new customers. With no marketing experience at the time, It was truly a leap of faith to pursue what I enjoy most.
I have now been working out of the Frisco area for 19 years, servicing customers all over the metro, and producing hundreds of high quality home office and entertainment cabinet designs, whose pictures always speak for themselves. I've yet to find anyone else, in this area, who does what I do, all by themselves, with anywhere near the knowledge and experience that I had in 2005, yet alone what I have acquired in the 19 years since.
My main competion seems to be larger companies, with much greater overhead costs, who have to focus on quantity, at the expense of their quality, which really makes them no competition at all.
Let me help you to design and then build your next home improvement project, that not only upgrades your living experience for years to come, but also increases the re-sale value of your home.
